About Us

Living in the Texas Hill Country we strive to be ecologically friendly and encourage our guests to do the same by following these guidelines:

  • Aluminum, tin, glass and paper is collected for recycling
  • "Real" plates, glasses and cups are provided to reduce the amount of trash, and use of the dishwasher is encouraged
  • Fabric scraps can be recycled when you donate them to our scrap basket
  • Smoking is not allowed within the house.

This is a Retreat house. Children and pets need to stay home!

The house has been named "Red Bud", both for the street name and for the Red Bud trees that are on the property.

With the abundance of trees, native grasses and natural landscaping we enjoy the beauty of the Hill Country. The lunar moth (below) visited us one fall.

Olive Trees! As of November 2009, we started our olive orchard, the first olive orchard in Blanco County. In a few years we're hoping to be harvesting olives!
