Living in the Texas Hill Country we strive to be ecologically friendly and encourage our guests to do the same by following these guidelines:
This is a Retreat house. Children and pets need to stay home!
The house has been named "Red Bud", both for the street name and for the Redbud trees that are on the property.
With the abundance of trees, native grasses and natural landscaping we enjoy the beauty of the Hill Country.
Olive Trees! In November 2009, we started our olive orchard, the first olive orchard in Blanco County. With over 100 trees in the ground, we'll be hoping to harvest olives in just a few years.
Red Bud Creations! A small area in the house has been set aside to display specialty items that are for sale. My creations will also be sold at the Sandy Oaks Olive Orchard gift shop in Elmensdorf, Tx. Thread, rotary blades, needles and Moda jelly rolls are available for purchase.
Adjacent to the house, and above the garage, is a private residence. While you are visiting, someone will be on the property to help with any problems that might arise, and deliver the continental breakfast. Consider visiting:
Residents on the property also include Caspian horses. The Caspian breed is native to Iran and is believed to be one of the oldest breeds of horses. We are honored to have a small group stay with us at Red Bud, as their home-away-from-home residence.
